SK Avarosa (SK's female team) get Division 1 seed of SK Prime for the Prime League Pokal
SK Avarosa will compete in the German fall cup, replacing the SK Prime lineup
SK Gaming Avarosa, the female LoL team of SK Gaming, will compete in the Prime League Pokal. They’ll be playing in the position of SK Prime, the academy LoL team of SK Gaming.
The Prime League Pokal is the fall competition for the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). 32 teams participate, of which 24 are invited and 8 win their spot through qualifiers.
As a Division 1 team, SK Gaming Prime was invited to compete. In a public announcement, SK Gaming stated that the SK Prime lineup, which includes former LEC players Neon + Doss, will skip the Pokal. Instead, the SK Avarosa players will compete in their place.
Part of SK Gaming’s announcement stated:
“We are excited for them to have the opportunity to train and play against teams from the top divisions of Prime League, and to let them showcase their skills while further normalising the place women have in esports on a bigger stage, which has been one of our key messages regarding the #EQUALESPORTS program.“
The invited teams are:
The 10 teams of Division 1 (including SK Gaming, Schalke, Unicorns of Love)
The 10 teams of Division 2
The top 4 teams of Division 3
The 32 teams are separated into 8 groups of 4 teams each, seeded based on their division and placement. The top 2 teams per group will proceed to a single elimination bracket.
Due to SK Prime finishing 2nd in Division 1, SK Avarosa were given a Pool 1 seed for the group stage draw. They were placed in a group with #2 seed Direct Rising eSports (Division 2), #3 seed WeSports (Division 2), and #4 seed regnum4games (Division 3). Notably, the lineup of regnum4games includes former SK Avarosa toplaner FengDere.
SK Avarosa has been competing in the Prime League ecosystem since the 2022 Spring Split. Starting in Division 6, they promoted to Division 5 in the 2022 Summer Pplit and then to Division 4 in the 2023 Spring Split. In their most recent split, 2024 Summer, they relegated from Division 4 to Division 5.
SK Avarosa’s debut is today, playing 3 games: vs regnum4games at 17:00 CEST, vs WeSports at 20:00 CEST, and vs Direct Rising eSports at 21:00 CEST. They’ll then play their 3 remaining group stage games on Wednesday the 9th of January.
