A return to Division 5 for the current champions of the Equal Esports Cup.
SK Avarosa, the female League of Legends team of SK Gaming, have finished their Summer Split. They have been relegated out of the Prime League Division 4 following a defeat to Capybara Fanclub during the Division 4-5 playoffs.
By finishing 6th in their Division 4 group (6-8 record), SK Avarosa had to participate in the Division 4-5 playoffs. There, 103 teams competed in a Best of 3 double elimination format for 26 spots in the Division 4 2024 Winter Split:
The 6th & 7th-placed teams from each of the 10 Division 4 groups
The 1st & 2nd-placed teams from each of the 38 Division 5 groups
The teams with a 13-3 or better record in the Starter Division
SK Avarosa started with a 1-2 defeat to Full Force, who went 14-2 in the Starter Division. This dropped SK Avarosa to the lower bracket, where they scored a 2-0 victory over Division 5.30 runners-up Flügeltier Gang. SK Avarosa then faced Division 5.27 winners Bootz Cowboys and came from behind to earn a 2-1 victory. Finally, in the lower bracket semifinal, SK Avarosa lost 1-2 to Capybara Fanclub, who scored 13-3 in the Starter Division.
SK Avarosa made 2 roster changes during the split. After going 2-2 with original toplaner GWolfieG, she announced she’ll be taking an indefinite break due to being mentally unable to play LoL. With temporary replacement Stratospanda, previously the botlaner of Rigas In Paris, SK Avarosa went 1-3. They then signed toplaner Sanah, formerly of Team GO Aurora, and scored 3-3 in their remaining games for Division 4.
SK Avarosa last played in Prime League Division 5 during the 2023 Spring Split, promoting to Division 4 with a 19-1 record. The Division 5 2024 Winter Split is scheduled to start on the 7th of October.
