SK Avarosa finish in the Top 16 of the Prime League Pokal after defeat in the playoffs
SK Avarosa's underdog run ends here; the results have been encouraging
SK Avarosa, the female League of Legends team of SK Gaming, have finished their run in the Prime League Pokal. They were defeated in the 1st round of the playoffs, placing in the Top 16.
The Prime League Pokal is the fall competition for the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). 32 teams participate, of which 24 are invited and 8 win their spot through qualifiers.
After finishing 1st in Group F with a 5-1 record, SK Avarosa were placed on the higher seeding pool for the playoff bracket. They were the only Division 5 team to qualify for the playoffs, out of 16 playoff teams total. They were drawn against DKB XPERION NXT, a Division 2 team who finished 2nd in Group C with a 4-2 record.
In a Best of 3 series, SK Avarosa were defeated by DKB XPERION NXT with a score of 2-0. DKB XPERION NXT will proceed to the quarterfinals, where they will face Division 1 team Eintracht Frankfurt. They are the only Division 2 team to make it to the quarterfinals, with all 7 others being Division 1 teams.
This marks the end of SK Avarosa’s competitive obligations for 2024. They will not participate in the Prime League Division 5 Winter Split, which they relegated to this past Summer Split. The contracts of the SK Avarosa players expire on the 18th of November.
