Who will be the champions of the NNO Cup Season 2?
The grand final of the NNO Cup Season 2 will take place tomorrow at 17:00 CET! Los Ratones, led by Caedrel, will face 5 Pigs 1 Team, led by Jankos. Besides the prestige of victory, the winning team will also receive a prize of 10,000 Euros.
Path to the final:
Coming from the upper bracket, Los Ratones have been the dominant team in the NNO Cup so far. They started out with a 3-0 win over Kiedyś Miałem Fun, advancing to the upper bracket semifinal. There they dropped their only game so far as they beat NNO 3-1 to advance to the upper bracket final. A 3-0 win over French Flair then saw Los Ratones through to the grand final.
5 Pigs 1 Team also started with a 3-0 win, overcoming Die Atzen. They then suffered a 3-2 defeat to French Flair, falling to the lower bracket. With consecutive clean sweeps over Kiedyś Miałem Fun and Los Guarros, they reached the lower bracket final for a rematch vs French Flair. They got their revenge, winning 3-2 and advancing to the grand final.
Analysis:
Los Ratones are coming into the grand final as the favorite. They’ve been the best-performing team so far, with a combined record of 9-1. They have the most experienced lineup due to featuring 3 former LEC pros: midlaner Nemesis, botlaner Crownie, and Caedrel offrole as support. Their macro has led them to getting wins even from significant deficits. But they are not invincible, and it’ll be interesting to see how 5 Pigs 1 Team go about bringing them down.
Just like the rest of the tournament, the series will be a Best of 5. Fearless Draft will be used, meaning there will be no bans and each team may only pick each champion once per series.
If Los Ratones win, Nemesis will become the only player to have won both of Season 1 & 2 of the NNO Cup. If 5 Pigs 1 Team win, then this distinction will instead be shared by toplaner Drututt and support TommyG; they were also in Team Nemesis. Their other two teammates from Season 1, jungler Aribo and botlaner Miella, did not participate in Season 2.
