G2 Hel score their first win in the Swedish 1st division
The losing streak is over; can they keep up the results?
G2 Hel, the female League of Legends team of G2 Esports, have finally stopped their losing streak! After 12 consecutive defeats in the Svenska Onlineligan Division 1, yesterday they got their first 2 wins by defeating Bardicted2U.
G2 Hel started well in Game 1, getting 9 kills in a row. It wasn’t until the 24th minute, with G2’s lead around 4K gold, that Bardicted2U got their first kill. Bardicted2U started closing the gap and stopped G2 from securing Cloud soul in the 30th minute, with the gold now almost even. G2 hit back in the 32nd minute, securing the first Baron of the game. G2 quickly built a 5K gold lead, while B2U equalized in dragons and were now also on soul point. B2U jungler Alexxx, who used to play for the G2 academy team in the Spanish league, stole Baron in the 40th minute. But G2 got a few kills, and used the momentum to take Cloud soul + B2U’s midlane inhibitor. Finally, G2 closed out the game in the 46th minute after winning a midlane teamfight.
Game 2 started mostly even, and remained so 10 minutes in. B2U started to build a gold lead, peaking at 6K around 22 minutes in by virtue of more kills + turrets. G2 struck back hard in the 26th minute, winning a teamfight around Baron by 4 kills to 1 and then securing Baron itself. They took down B2U’s botlane inhibitor, the first of the game, in the 29th minute. The game was decided in the 32th minute: G2 got 2 kills in a midlane teamfight, then chased down the rest of the B2U team for the ace and destroyed their nexus.
G2 Hel now have a 2-12 record, and are still in 10th (last) place. Bardicted2U now have a 7-7 record, and are currently tied for 4th place with Team CD and Karolinerna.
G2 Hel coach Emtest subbed in for starting botlaner Caltys, who has been dealing with health issues for over a week. He also subbed in for 3 out of 4 G2 Hel games last week.
G2 Hel’s next Svenska Onlineligan Division 1 match is scheduled for Sunday the 6th of October, 20:30 CEST. They face Asini, who are currently in 3rd place with a 8-6 record.
